Jochen enjoys working with people to find suitable solutions for people. He enjoys inspiring new ideas, perspectives and approaches off the beaten track. And he motivates to concrete and also unfinished and preliminary results or first steps and prototypes, which in his opinion are always more powerful than just discussed or even just imagined possibilities.
Jochen is particularly interested in the question of what change needs in order to happen. Both in a personal context and in terms of a team or organization. The usage of Design Thinking in companies is a wonderful tool for him to invest – in addition to the work on innovative products and services – in the personal development of each individual as well as in team and organisational development towards more people-oriented, creative and agile work.
In his workshops, projects and training sessions with launchlabs clients, Jochen wants to facilitate real encounters at eye level and create safe spaces for participants to work and learn together in the best sense of the word.
Jochen Gürtler is a computer scientist, design therapist and design thinker with passion. In the last 10 years he has been working as a Design Thinking Coach, Expert and Trainer (almost) all over the world in various teams and organizations. In addition, he has worked for more than 23 years within SAP in development, research and consulting as a developer, software architect, team leader, product owner and strategic design consultant.
In addition to his work in the office, in his practice or directly on site with his clients, Jochen prefers to spend his time with his family, his two grown-up children and his friends. With telling stories and listening. With concerts in his living room. With trips to near and far and more and more often hiking and pilgrimages. With listening to music and playing the trumpet. With dancing and enjoying life. With trying out, challenging himself and being creative. And more and more often also with moments of silence and meditation.

Humans should be at the forefront of everything that needs to be done. Accordingly, an active involvement of people in processes, especially change processes, is of the highest priority for Matthias. This is the only way to ensure that problems are recognized, ideas are developed, and solutions are found and sustainably integrated.
Matthias is convinced that transformation and digitalization are both companions and solution at the same time. But without creating added value, change will not be accepted.
Matthias' focus is, on the one hand, on operative project management, i.e. guiding projects through the phases of change using appropriate creative methods, but also on strategic consulting to establish innovation techniques in a corporate culture in the long run.
Matthias is a graduate business economist, industrial business management assistant, user interface designer, design thinking coach, project manager and speaker. With 23 years SAP experience (Technical Editor, user interface designer, Senior Manager User Interface Designer, Project manager of design projects, Workshop Leadership), he has worked in countless international transformation and optimization projects. He was also involved in the design process of new cloud applications.
Matthias enjoys analyzing business processes and making them visible and tangible through Design Thinking methods. His emphasis is on the in-depth understanding of business processes and their representation in IT landscapes.
After very nice and fulfilling years at SAP SE, Matthias wants to pass on his experience and knowledge to as many interested people as possible. He would like to develop ideas and share his passion for creative work with as many people as possible.
Travelling with his partner and future wife, as well as with his children, is at the top of his list. But also handicraft work suits him very well. This was probably inherited from his father, who was a self-employed painter and who is still working as a craftsman in his old age. Matthias loves building wooden huts.
