Design Thinking for all — compact, agile and inspiring

Our learninglabs follow a curriculum developed from our experience with a variety customers from all over the world. The core of our learninglabs is based on content we initially developed for Swisscom and the School of Design Thinking at the Hasso Plattner Institute, University of Potsdam in 2007.
Learninglabs enable teams to develop and implement creative solutions for complex problems. Providing a sound foundation for innovative teams, the highly practical modules build on the feedback from end-users, as well as promoting a highly empathetic understanding of their needs and learning through feedback loops. We offer customised learninglabs targeted at four different levels - Introduction - Practitioner - Facilitator - Leader. A brief overview of the individual modules can be found here:

Design Thinking and agile methods for getting to know each other better

Introductory module at a glance

In the introductory workshop, you and your team will gain a profound insight into design thinking and agile methods. Irrespective of whether it is a brief overview or an in-depth immersion we will tailor the introductory workshop to your needs.

For whom?

  • Executives who are interested in gaining a concise understanding
  • R & D, innovation & HR teams who would like to learn about the potential of design thinking in practice

What?

  • Brief presentation of the basic principles of the design thinking approach with a practical example
  • Design Thinking experience – as part of an interactive task, in which all participants go through the entire design process and actively test the basic principles of the approach in small teams

How long?

  • Minimum 90 minutes to four hours, can be done over one or two days

Practitioner, means a hands-on approach to learning, experiencing and implementing design thinking!

Practitioner at a glance

The Practitioner Workshop provides an in-depth understanding of the design thinking approach. Using one of your business challenges to illustrate the iterative design process and co-create a solution.

What?

  • Active learning of different design methods within a cross-functional team
  • Reflection of one’s own teamwork culture
  • Application of the skills learned within a (supervised) practice project
  • Reflection on the experience and delving deeper into the learnings

For whom?

  • Teams with basic knowledge of design thinking who want to apply the approach and tools in practice

For how long?

  • Three days of a build-up module
  • A four to eight-week practice project with one of our coaches
  • One to two days of review and reflection

Leadership at a glance

The Leadership Workshop addresses design leadership challenges within a wider organisational context.

For whom?

  • Management teams with basic knowledge in design thinking who want develop the mindset and establish the approach and the tools as part of their organisation’s culture

What?

  • Active reinforcement of some of the most relevant design methods for executives
  • Experience how cross-functional teams, appropriate work environments and agile working methods to foster an innovative culture
  • Application the knowledge to everyday business challenges supported by reflection with peers
  • Identification of the key levers of transformation and planning of the organizational transformation sprints
  • Reflection on the experience and reinforcement of key learnings

  • Two day add-on module
